All prepared. The local police of the 16 largest cities of the Valencian Community, which will be closed from three in the afternoon today until six in the morning on Monday in application of the new measures to control the expansion of the covid, have already designed the joint plan with the National Police and the Civil Guard to monitor compliance with mobility restrictions, which affect half of the Valencian population: 2.5 million people.
This is not a witch hunt. We are not going to catch … There are some measures decreed at a critical moment and our contribution is to reinforce them and try to ensure that they are complied with, but the idea is that the population becomes aware that it is everyone’s problem and that responsibility is applied personal for the good of each one and of all ».
The person speaking is a high-ranking police officer, hours after the president of the Generalitat Valenciana, Ximo Puig, was informed of the details of this surveillance plan in a telematic meeting attended by the 16 mayors of the affected municipalities, a good part of its security councilors and the chief of Local Police, the Minister of the Interior, Gabriela Bravo, the Government delegate, Gloria Calero, and the heads of the security forces: the Chief General of the Civil Guard, José Hermida; the superior chief of Police, Jorge Zurita; and that of the Generalitata Police, Marisol Conde.
Bravo summarized at the end of that meeting that the 16 mayors showed their “maximum institutional support, both for the measures themselves, and for the action necessary to enforce them.”
Faced with what he described as a “complex weekend”, since “the mobility of 2.5 million Valencians will be restricted”, he announced “a large police deployment in which the local police of the perimeter municipalities will participate with the support, above all, from the National Police ”, since they are the competent state police in 14 of the 16 cities affected by the closure.
The Civil Guard, for its part, will continue with the task of guaranteeing the perimeter closure of the C. Valenciana, but will also support the Local Police of Valencia in controlling the southern exit of the city – the accesses to Pinedo, el Saler and El Palmar, mainly, but also to other points such as the districts in the north of the city or the neighboring towns to the south – and you will have to ensure that the perimeter closure of the two cities of more than 50,000 inhabitants that fall into your territory of action: San Vicente del Raspeig and Torrevieja.
As the Minister of Justice explained yesterday, the “fundamental action” will be in the entrances to the perimeter cities, “with special attention to bus stations, trains, airports, but also on the beaches”, which he described as “complicated area”.
Since they can be a claim for the 800,000 inhabitants of Valencia, since they will not only be able to go to the urban beaches, but also to those that run along the coast between the mouth of the Túria and the Perellonet, all of them within the Valencian municipality.
Sagunt, Gandia, Castelló, Alicante, Torrevieja, Benidorm and even Elx will have the same problem, although the forecast of strong wind and clouds and clearings, with maximums that, for example in Valencia, will not exceed 21 degrees could dissuade the inmates to go to the seashore.
